DESCRIPTION:4Motion is hosting a series of GRIT Girls MOVE workshops this summer\, inviting young females or those who identify as female aged 11-18 years to join us at the Newquay Orchard. These workshops will be co-designed with the young girls\, exploring topics that feel relevant to them and aim to support the mental\, physical and emotional wellbeing of the group. The GRIT Girls Move workshops offer opportunities to move through creative dance and yoga\, journal doodles\, and hang out in nature to chat\, meditate or simply be. Our goal is to create a safe space and equip the group with wellbeing tool kits to help them understand the power of their mind\, spark a love of movement and experience wellbeing techniques that will help them develop resilience\, confidence and positive relationships with self and others.

We focus on developing practical skills in an outdoor setting which is quiet\, friendly and non-pressured.  \n\n\n\nOur 7-acre site includes growing spaces\, gardens\, a volunteer hub\, wood workshop\, forest school and classrooms\, from which we run a range of courses and activities aimed at supporting young people to work out where their future lies. DESCRIPTION:Join the Digital Discovery day to learn and explore new digital experiences such as Virtual Reality\, 3D printing and citizen science. This will be a playful and fun day workshop with lots of hands-on activities. Come and find out about how to use digital technology to make things\, experience new spaces and also to connect with nature.The day is open to all levels and abilities and no prior digital skills or experience is required.In the morning session we making and doing with creative technology – we will learn together about how to 3D print a simple design and also about how to 3D scan a space to view in a VR headset. In the afternoon we will be learning about how to do a bioblitz activity using citizen science tools to explore nature and will get the chance to explore Newquay Orchard’s gardens (weather permitting).The activity will take place at Newquay Community Orchard; a beautiful 7-acre community space for all ages and all species. Lunch will be provided in the café.The day will be supported by a University of Plymouth academic staff and by Pollenize CIC who are a leading biodiversity organisation.The scheme has been set up to help disadvantaged children access physical activities and so if your family is in receipt of Free School Meals vouchers\, your child is eligible to take part in Time2Move programmes for free.

Pollenize will guide you through the identification process\, making this a fun and educational experience for everyone. With this information\, we can create even more amazing nature spots in the future!\n\n\n\nArtificial Intelligence (‘AI’)-powered species identification: Pollenize uses cloud-based technology and AI\, alongside expert input\, to identify the maximum number of species possible.\n\n\n\n‘Floradex’ biodiversity tracking: Information gathered is then fed into a powerful data tool developed by Pollenize and the University of Plymouth\, Floradex. This AI-powered platform analyses land data and suggests the best plants to put in a space to make it the best it can be for wildlife.\n\n\n\n\nBioblitzes are not only great for mental and physical well-being\, but also provide crucial support for Pollenize’s mission to restore biodiversity.

DESCRIPTION:Nina was going through life quite nicely\, when POW! Suddenly! she wasn’t! \n\n\n\nFear and Anxiety crept into normal every day situations. Unexplainable rage at everything and everyone! Depression and weird sexual urges!!  So imagine her surprise when she was told that this was the Peri-menopause!! The Peri-meno…what now?? Little did she realise that this was ‘normal’ and part of the joys of growing old!! Expect Comedy\, song\, rap and even a bit of contemporary dance. A must see for anyone with a lady garden and all garden visitors. \n\n\n\nAbout peri-meno..what now? 2.0 \n\n\n\nWhilst travelling around with the original show we discovered that a lot of women had a lot to say about their own experiences with the perimenopause. We found lots of material to add to the show and we found that men don’t want to come to see a show about women’s fanny’s. So Peri 2.0 has elements of the original show with extra bits for us and the men in our lives – so bring them along \n\n\n\nParking at Tretherras \n\n\n\nDoors from 6:30pm \n\n\n\nFood and drinks available from Heart and Soul café \n\n\n\nNewquay Orchard is an outdoor venue\, please dress prepared for the ever changing Cornish weather!

SUMMARY:SOLSTICE CIRCLE WORKSHOP WITH ARTIST TOM SEWELL
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the prehistoric stone and timber circles of the atlantic archipelago and their history of communal construction this circle workshop will mark the summer solstice weekend by collectively building a temporary sculptural circle in the playing place at Newquay Orchard using materials gathered from the site. \n\n\n\nAfter marking out the circle on the ground we will spend an hour collecting materials from the local environment and then use them to build sculptural structures to define the circle\, being as creative and wild as we can\, inspired by the environment and materials we have found. \n\n\n\nThen\, in gratitude for the place and the time we’ve spent together making the work we will return the materials to the places where they came from\, leaving us with a memory of our time together. \n\n\n\nJoin us in the Plan An Gwary. Children and families welcome. Free.
