Growing food, Growing people, Growing together
Grown is a partnership which delivers year-round seasonal food, reduces food miles, and empowers a community of growers working harmoniously with the land, nature and the community.
This is more than just your weekly veg box!
We supply a weekly bag of fresh, nutritious, vegetables grown at our market garden just outside Newquay. But dig a bit deeper and you will find you are buying so much more than that.
We call our customers ‘members’ as everyone joins a community working together to create a better local food system. Grown is our Community Supported Agriculture scheme; a partnership where growers and customers join hands to share the responsibilities, risks, and rewards of growing the harvest.
Grown also works with the local community to provide education, training and volunteering opportunities to help people – young and old – to learn new skills, get training and build their confidence to move back to work. We create opportunities for our community and a skilled workforce for our growers.
We believe this way of growing is vital if we are to have a secure, resilient and sustainable supply of food in the face of the climate and biodiversity crisis.
Enjoy your share of the harvest.
Being a member of Grown means connecting with local growers and understanding the process behind the food on your table. It’s a social enterprise that benefits your local farmer, supports local biodiversity and most importantly, nourishes your table.

Summer brings an abundance of vegetables, herbs and edible flowers – and tomatoes, lots of tomatoes!

Autumn
In autumn vegetables like pumpkins and squash will be the stars of the season.

Winter
And winter winds down with farmhouse staple root veg like potatoes and carrots.

FAQ’s
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between farmers and consumers in which the responsibilities, risks and rewards of farming are shared. It’s all about connecting people with their local growers and learning how their food is grown. You are buying a share in the harvest rather than just a veg box. Your investment into the Grown by Newquay Orchard is used to grow your harvest, to support local biodiversity and your table.
If we have a bumper harvest you’ll get a bumper box. Likewise if weather conditions are tough or there’s a harsh winter there may be less veg however we will then supplement it with produce from other local farmers. Eating with the seasons means year round food security, lower food miles and an empowered community of growers working with the land.
You can read more about the CSA model on the community supported agriculture website. There are now over 150 CSA’s across the UK!
You are investing in a share of the harvest using the CSA model. This means you’ll share the risks and rewards of the growers. Payment is made via a direct debit or standing order each month and payment is a month in advance.
Please give us a month’s notice if you would like to stop receiving veg boxes. There are options to pay upfront annually and quarterly if you can commit and really believe in us.
As you made the investment at the start of the month we are unable to refund individual weeks. We’d love for you to arrange a friend to pick up your box or failing that we will put that box into our solidarity offer so a household who can’t afford it usually can try out a Grown by Newquay Orchard veg box.
Sometimes unexpected things can happen in life and we understand that. Just get in touch with our team via info@nqyorchard.pixolomew.design and they’ll be able to cancel your membership. If you can give us a month’s notice before cancelling that would help our growers out so much.
If you’d like to contribute even more to the Grown community, consider volunteering. Just fill out the form below and we’ll get back to you with details on how to get involved.
