The Cornwall Places & Spaces Conference

Purpose
Urban Biodiversity are excited to bring the Places and Spaces event to Newquay Orchard.
This day-long event will bring an array of keynote speakers from the Plunkett Foundation, Sensory Trust, Cornwall Community Foundation, Disability Cornwall & Isles of Scilly, Urban Biodiversity and Beach Guardian to discuss the importance of Places and Spaces for thriving communities.
The day will explore the part capital projects play on regeneration and social inclusion and, importantly, the health and wellbeing of our communities.
Workshops are available all day; delegates can book for the morning, afternoon or both. A day of two halves, or a whole, depending on what would suit you best. Our Marketplace is also open to anyone, whether or not you’re attending the event, to pop in for a chat about funding opportunities and the support available locally for developing your project.
An array of workshops, guest speakers and funders and investors will be on hand to meet and advise you and your future project plans.
Morning theme: The Importance of spaces and places in enabling communities to thrive, including regeneration and social inclusion.
Afternoon theme: The importance of spaces and places for health and wellbeing and environmental sustainability

Site tours with Urban Biodiversity staff available from the entrance of Kowel Gwenen throughout the day. Just speak to someone wearing Orchard colours, and we will tell you our story.
Visit the Market Place
A ‘Market Place’ of national and local Funders & Helper Agencies will be stationed under the stretch tent in the Community Field. One to ones will be available throughout the day, or if you just want to visit the Market Place you are welcome to drop in between 10am – 3pm Be sure to tick ‘I wish to attend the Market Place only’ on the booking form.
This event is free to attend, with teas and coffees and lunch available to purchase.
