Volunteer
Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. None of this would be here without their care and hard work. We are truly built by the community for the community.
Volunteer with us and make a real impact – for the community, for nature and for yourself.
Help develop and maintain our beautiful site, make new friends, improve your physical and mental health, share your skills or learn new ones.
Our volunteers are a friendly, welcoming and generous bunch. There are opportunities for all abilities, and we can provide support through our Learning and Wellbeing team if you need a bit of help along the way.

Our volunteers get the following rewards in recognition of their contribution:
- Lunch with the volunteer team
- Veg from the community garden
- Collect Tempo Time credits to exchange at venues and activities across the county
- 10% discount in our café Heart and Soul
- 10% discount for our events

There are lots of ways to volunteer:

Horticulture and Wild landscapes
Do you enjoy working outdoors and have an interest in plants, sustainable food growing and land management?
Work with our Landscape Officers at Newquay Orchard, looking after our site; food growing gardens, orchard, wildflower meadows and food forest. Share your horticultural or ecological expertise or learn with us to create a beautiful space for people and nature to thrive.

Woodwork
Do you have carpentry skills? Experienced in a machine workshop? Or are you a digital expert with experience of working with CNC routers, 3D printers or laser cutters?
We are looking for skilled volunteers to help us build a team in our new maker space.

Events
Do you want to be a part of a team delivering a diverse range of events for our local community?
We have a wonderful events programme that really kicks off on our terraces over the summer and are always on the lookout for customer service champions who would like to assist in the smooth running of our events. From box office, stewarding, helping on the bar, and ensuring attendees are having a great experience, we are looking for team members who love working within the creative arts.

Grown
Do you want to be a part of a community supported agriculture programme working on growing a sustainable food network?
Volunteer with us on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is for people feeling confident, can work unsupported, ready for work experience and able to work at the Grown pace, in all weathers. You will learn about growing veg organically and commercially on a much larger scale than the Orchard.
We are also looking for volunteer drivers to support us on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s as we bring the team to the Grown Farm!

Markets Volunteers
Do you enjoy customer service and have a passion for field-to-fork produce?
We are providing produce at the newly established farmers markets held at Project 83, Newquay on the 3rd Saturday of each month. We are looking for volunteers who would be interested in assisting us to run our stall, provide great customer service and discuss our wonderful weekly veg bag scheme with prospective new members. More than just a veg bag, your support allows us to continue our sustainability mission while cultivating fresh, healthy, and seasonal fruit and veg for the local community.

Wellbeing
Do you have skills, experience and a keen interest in helping support people?
Our Wellbeing Volunteers support people to take part in our volunteer and learning sessions, offering a friendly face and a bit of extra support as needed.

Education

Drivers
Do you enjoy driving a van and working with a diverse range of people?
Our Volunteer Drivers take our volunteers to different destinations, whilst ensuring attention to health & safety and good communication. A clean driving licence and ability to safely drive a small minibus is essential.
