Located in our community building is Heart & Soul, our on-site community cafe. What began as a simple food van to feed our volunteers as they planted the first seeds and trees of Newquay Orchard has blossomed into our beloved community cafe which uses produce grown just yards away in the market gardens.
The cafe still feeds our volunteers and students, offering them a free nutritious meal and a place to connect and chat to teammates and peers.
From Garden to Plate
Heart & Soul’s mission is feeding the community from seed to plate with local and sustainable produce. The doors are open wide to everyone, it’s more than just a cafe, it’s a welcoming space where we aim to provide a home-from-home feeling.
With a focus on “food yards, not food miles,” the cafe proudly serves dishes made with pesticide-free produce grown right on-site. Every bite tells a story of seed, soil, and social interaction and full-cycle sustainability. Accessibility is also really important to us and the cafe team ensures that prices are affordable, catering to various budgets with wholesome and tasty food.
Meet the Team!
Say hi to our chefs – Ben, Adam and Lewis. They all have a passion for local, seasonal produce, bringing passion and their own personal cooking style, to every dish they create.
Adam
Adam discovered his love for ingredients and flavours in the bustling kitchens of London, working alongside Marco Pierre White and Mark Hicks. His move to Cornwall led him to Heart & Soul.
Lewis
Inspired by the simplicity and freshness of Mediterranean cuisine, Lewis believes in creating simple, honest food with a classical, no-fuss style and loves working with amazing produce sourced straight from the land and sea of Cornwall.
Ben
Ben heads up the kitchen team and is inspired by locally sourced and sustainable produce, and is motivated by the produce grown right here at Newquay Orchard, it always keeps him interested. He lets the food revolve around amazing ingredients, simply prepared delivering fantastic flavours straight from the garden.

Heart & Soul operates with a purpose-driven ethos. Every pound spent at the cafe is reinvested back into Newquay Orchard, supporting learning opportunities, volunteering initiatives, and community events.
