FAQs

What’s the space for?

All sorts! We have something for everyone here. From nature walks, education courses and volunteering opportunities to live music, theatre, film, and food. We also have an innovative co-workspace and spaces of all kinds that can be booked by our community for singing, playing, learning, and connecting.

Is the Orchard an accessible space?

Our Community Field and building are fully accessible with an access path winding down from the north hedge. You’ll find public toilets on the ground floor.

Where do I park?

Please use the lower bays as you approach the Orchard and the Sports Centre.

For Events please check your tickets, often parking is available at Newquay Tretherras School.

Where is the Orchard?

You can find Newquay Orchard on Yeoman Way, next to the Sports Centre and Newquay Tretherras. We’re a 15-minute walk from the train station and 5 minutes from Henver Road – a common bus route into town, with the closest stop being at Porth 4 turns roundabout. Find more directions here.

What are your opening hours?

Newquay Orchard is a public space, so is always open (although it does get very dark in our corner of Newquay at night time). Kowel Gwenen is open to the public and our members 9am – 5.30pm, or later, on evenings when events are taking place.

Our café, Heart & Soul, is open every day from 9am-4:30pm

For our full line up, head to our what’s on page.

Can I rent a desk or a room?

Yes! Our co-workspace is a beautiful spot to call your office. We also have two meeting rooms available for community bookings. Read more here.

I noticed you had many royal visitors – what’s the connection?

The Duchy are our landlords, and we sit right in the middle between Newquay and the new Duchy development at Nansledan. HRH Prince William – the Duke of Cornwall – and His Majesty King Charles III are great supporters of the Orchard’s work and ethos. You can read more about the Duke’s visit here.

Can I walk my dog?

Absolutely! Our 7-acres and our community building, Kowel Gwenen, are super dog friendly. We do however ask that dogs are kept on leads at all times to protect our young trees and keep our volunteers at ease.

Who runs Newquay Orchard?

The Orchard is the flagship project of a CIC (Community Interest Company) called Urban Biodiversity. We have a team of 35 full time, part time and freelance experts working with hundreds of volunteers to develop the Orchard you see today.

How are you funded?

We are a not-for-profit organisation and have grown thanks to the dedication and support of over 20 different funders. You can read more about them here.
