If you’ve come to visit us recently, you’ll have noticed the new bank of solar panels, expertly installed by Naked Solar. Completed at the very end of 2025, the panels are now fully online – and we’ve even been able to produce some excess to feed back to the grid!
“These solar panels will help offset a small portion of our electricity usage and costs – environmentally and financially, this is a win-win for us.” – Lyn Trewella, Operations Manager at Newquay Orchard
As well as environmental and economic benefits, the project will also create opportunities for volunteer and learner involvement, with a chance for our community to learn about green energy management.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of the project and with the exceptional service and quality delivered by the Naked Solar team. They provided clear guidance throughout, helping us make the most effective use of our available funds to expand our renewable energy capacity. We appreciate their ongoing support for our mission to serve our community.” – Charlotte Hill, CEO Newquay Orchard

The B-Corps certified Naked Solar team will be joining us at the Orchard for a company volunteering day in April. This will involve a mix of company focused activities and lunch in Heart & Soul Cafe, followed by time outdoors with the Newquay Orchard landscaping team on a range of nature-connected tasks helping us to prepare our site for Spring.
“For over 10 years, we’ve watched Newquay Orchard grow from a dream into a vital community asset. For the team at Naked Solar, being chosen to deliver their Solar PV installation is the culmination of a long-standing relationship built on synergy and a commitment to a greener future. We are proud to support such a wonderful project and are eagerly looking forward to our Spring 2026 team day to see their latest innovations in action.” – Shelley Sampson, Director at Naked Solar
The team at Naked Solar also enjoyed getting stuck into the unique challenges posed by the different roof surfaces of Kowel Gwenen, our community building.
“Working together on the Newquay Orchard project showed what’s possible when people care about the outcome, not just the job. We loved the challenge of the Orchard’s roof and getting the aesthetics right. Solid teamwork, high standards, and a result we can all be proud to stand behind for the local community.” – Dom, Roofing Supervisor at Naked Solar
