KREFT – MAKER SPACE
Creativity is in our values and there is no better example of putting this into practice than Kreft (Cornish for craft), our new community maker space.
Kreft is a high tech maker space split into 3 facilities:
- Our woodworking machine shop – We have some fantastic equipment that includes a table saw, band saw, chop saw, drill press and thicknesser planer. The showstopper is our large CNC router.
- Our hand tool workshop – A place full of all the tools needed to craft beautiful furniture, toys and homes for wildlife. We also teach joinery skills here.
- Our digital design studio – Housing the biggest 3D printer in the UK, alongside a large laser cutter and smaller 3D printers. We support local businesses to prototype new products here and deliver courses in digital product design.
Kreft uses cutting edge technology to create beautiful and sustainable circular economy products, from flat pack furniture to children’s toys. We also provide repeat batch run contracts for large clients in Cornwall.
You’ll soon be able to see our products displayed in our cafe at the Orchard, and at selected retailers across the county and beyond.
Whether you are a Men (or Women) in Sheds group, a furniture maker, crafter or product developer, Kreft is a creative space for volunteers, business members and the community alike.
