Newquay Orchard, in collaboration with Cornwall Council’s Inclusion Team, Careers Hub, and local education providers, proudly unveil the winner of the ‘Diversity to Thrive’ logo design competition.
This initiative, driven by Cornwall Council’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, aimed to create a logo which would be a symbol of advocating for supported employment networks. A collective effort with the aim to create a strong community working together to promote diversity and inclusion.
Working in collaboration; Newquay Orchard, Careers Hub, Cornwall Council, and Work Your Way created strong links to the wider SEND Employment Forum, aiming to increase supported employment opportunities, work experience, and supported internship placements for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across Cornwall.
The brief was for entrants to design a logo representing the theme of Diversity in Employment – one that would unify providers, educators, and employers in their advocacy for supported employment – one which shows a shared commitment to supporting young people entering the workforce.
The theme, ‘Diversity in Employment,’ aligns with Cornwall Council’s broader initiative, ‘Diversity to Thrive’, which has a mission to build employer engagement and a supportive community for young people transitioning into the workforce.
“Diversity to Thrive is about how we can support young people with SEND into employment through an inclusive, thriving business community. Together, we can learn, grow, and create a better future for young people as they move into employment.”
Janine Bisson Inclusion and Participation Coordinator, Cornwall Council.
Designs were submitted by young people currently enrolled in supported employment courses and were meticulously chosen by a panel from Cornwall Council’s SEND Employment Forum and Careers Hub. The winning design was submitted by Harry Dickinson, a Growing Futures student at Newquay Orchard.
Harry’s Winning Logo:

Harry comments on winning the design competition:
“I am excited to have my design chosen for the ‘Diversity to Thrive’ campaign. This opportunity means a lot to me. I hope to inspire other young people facing similar challenges to believe in themselves and their abilities. Thank you to Newquay Orchard, Cornwall Council, and everyone who supports initiatives like these, for recognising the potential in all of us.”
Harry’s design, chosen for its powerful representation of diversity and inclusion, will now feature prominently on all communication and marketing materials related to the ‘Diversity to Thrive’ campaign. His winning logo marks a significant step in communicating Cornwall’s diversity mission and our commitment to creating inclusive workplaces.
Sarah Anthony, Education Manager, Newquay Orchard, comments:
“We are thrilled to unveil the winning design by Harry Dickinson for the ‘Diversity to Thrive’ campaign.”
“Harry’s creativity and unique perspective have given us a symbol that truly captures the essence of inclusivity and support in the workplace.”
At Newquay Orchard, we believe in providing opportunities for everyone, and Harry’s success is a testament to the incredible talent within the special educational needs community. This initiative aligns with our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, and we look forward to showcasing Harry’s impactful design as we work together with Cornwall Council and our partners to create positive change in supported employment networks.
